How would your baby describe it?
Moms & Dads out there, may I have your attention?
No? Well, let’s see if a long wail gets your attention. Now then, since that worked and you are now ooo-ing and goo-ing at me, I’d like to take this opportunity to have a word with you if I might. One word in particular… “OW!”
Yeah, that’s how this baby rash feels. Like doo- doo. (Pardon the expression). Speaking of doo-doo, if you’re wondering how to prevent this madness, I’ve got a few pointers:
• Doo-doo and pee-pee or dinkle and doodle or whatever you’re calling it today, is a big factor in me getting this pain-in-the-booty rash. Please change me real fast whenever you think I’ve gone potty.
• If the fat rings around my legs have gotten more noticeable, it may be time for a bigger diaper. Tight diapers cause friction and friction causes, yep you guessed it diaper rash. Try moving up to the next size.
• If the doctor gives me some new medicine, watch me closely. Sometimes the stuff that makes me feel better can make me feel worse in the diaper area.
• New foods can also cause diaper rash. I’m not making this up just because I don’t want to eat those peas and carrots. If I do get diaper rash, think back if you fed me something new recently.
• The soap you use smells really pretty Mommy, but sometimes that pretty smelling soap or other irritants can cause this red patchy mess on my skin. You could switch detergents. Or if it’s the stuff in disposable diapers that’s causing it, you could try switching to cloth.
Thanks for listening. I’m glad I got that off my chest, I’m not sure what that means, but I’ve heard you say it. Now can we go back to story time? I love you!
