Heloise Here...

I will be giving hints to help you, offering a bit of wisdom I have learned from several generations of mothers, fathers and grandparents, and sharing funny hints and stories to help you get through the day! A sense of humor will help make some of those trying and just plain frustrating times, a little less so. Know that you are not alone, not the first and will not be the last to make a mistake, forget something or just drop the ball. And, we hope, not the baby!
I am working with the wonderful people at Mission Pharmacal, a family-owned and run company I have worked with before (San Antonio-based in my home town) to get the word out about how wonderful Dr. Smith’s Diaper Ointment is. Diaper rash is bound to happen, no matter how good a mom you are, so don’t have guilt. Talk with your girlfriends, and you just might learn why like so many mothers I have talked with said this is the product that took care of the problem in no time, no question. These moms recommend it to their friends, so you know it’s the real thing and mom-approved!
I’ll be checking in to tell you what’s going on in my world, sharing new research on old hints. YES, vinegar is great to kill weeds in the yard. NO, vinegar does not help soothe a sunburn. I’ll also report on what I learn when talking with the experts.
And, of course, sometimes I’ll offer a snippet into my day. Right now Cabbie, our miniature schnauzer, is sitting in a chair across from my computer, just hanging out. She will remind me in a few minutes that it’s time for her dinner! I know she can’t tell what time it is by looking at the clock, but darn if she doesn’t know when it’s 6 p.m.!
Remember, I am here to help you, so drop in often, you never know what you will learn, who you might meet or when you just need a quilt-free little "me" time.
Hugs,
Heloise
P.S. Here is a wonderful quote from my mother, the original Heloise (1919-1977) from one of her books, Heloise's Work & Money Savers (1968). This is as true today as ever!
"The first thing you must learn is to lower your goals. Learn to take it easy. Is anyone really comfortable in a model home? Magazines stacked perfectly just shows they aren’t read! Nobody sets your standards but you! Not your neighbor or your husband, your in-laws or your family. And if you are really smart, don’t set theirs too high either!”
