Stains
Stains In Kids Clothes - Problem Solved!

•First off, act quickly. This is especially true with the bodily functions. Remove the article and get it under water. As Soon As Possible.
•Also, there are many products out in the field now for immediate on-the-go stain treatment. I have found them relatively useful and personally carry one in my purse. The come in different forms – stick, wipes, etc. They are portable and I recommend throwing one in the diaper bag.
•Don’t use soap. I know this seems counterintuitive, but hand soaps often set stains rather than releasing them.
•And try not to rub. Rubbing can further set a stain. If you have a white cloth or wipe, blotting is better.
•Now you are home and you want this thing out, out, out! Start by taking a peek at your washing directions. Be aware of the fabric type and any special requirements. Believe it or not, some children’s clothes say to spot treat only
•If in doubt, go cold. My mom always told me to never use warm water on protein stains. This includes milk, formula, and blood
•I am a big believer in the pre-wash cycle on my washer; use a pre-treater and run it through the pre-wash cycle.
•“Don’t dry a stain!” Once a stain is dried in, it is much harder to remove. So as you pull those clothes out, keep an eye for the stained item. If you find that the stain remains, pull it aside before the dryer. And just as I said before, repeat.
•What do I do if one gets by me?” Not to repeat myself, but my Mom is my best source. She used (and taught me to use) WD-40. This is especially true with oil-based stains. It can seem odd but actually adding oil to a dried oil stain can help release it.
•Also, I have not forgotten those of you who like the natural options. Depending on the stain, vinegar, baking soda, and hydrogen peroxide are all great
•My mom is a huge fan of vinegar. It is especially good for whites as a less abrasive alternative to bleach. And vinegar is a terrific odor remover
