Baby Registry
If I Could Do It All Over Again
October 13, 2010 by Hale Mom
These are things I would do differently if I could plan my baby registry all over again:
•Don't wait until the last minute! When you're pregnant, it seems like everything takes 3 times as long (get used to it, because that's how it goes when you're a mother!) Start preparing your gift registry list as soon as you hear the big news. There's nothing worse than slapping something together at the last minute, and ending up with gifts you're not so hot about, or worse, having friends or family that can't get a gift because they didn't know about the registry items until too late.
•Use the power of the internet: Although I did use the internet to compile my list, I just didn't do any research, and that was the biggest mistake I made. There's so much information out there, and so many stores have features online that you can compile your list from the comfort of your own home. The best part about that is that your family and friends can buy online, or in the store.
•Don't get your heart set on anything you've picked out. Sometimes people just choose things that they want to get you, or that's in their price range. It's just the way things go, but you will still end up with the things you need. Also, sometimes things you think are cool, might not be, when they've ended up on the recall list. Research is KEY!
•Don't forget to buy thank you cards. I can't believe how disorganized I was when I was pregnant, and forgot to get thank you cards, I could have labeled and started on them while I was getting gifts to save some time.
•Don't be afraid to ask for help in whatever you need done. Whether it's asking advice, or asking for anything else, people are willing to help, if you just ask. I wish I had done this more.
